No Place For Good is my first published book. It is a compilation of my poetry from 2016 to 2021. The book was released on 20 June 2021.
This book features poetry that spans topics of society, religion and conflict, from the eyes of a child. With age, I have seen Kashmir evolve right in front of my eyes. This book has captured the few years of my life as a child in Kashmir. For me, this book is a window to the past. Not only Kashmir's past but also mine. These poems were written by a young Abdullah, who is long gone. This book serves as a mirror to myself and Kashmir, from my young, naive eyes.
Publication of this brought with it a title that would shape the rest of my life, Youngest English Poet in Kashmir (see Media Coverage: 1,2). I was 12 back then, and becoming the youngest English poet changed my life in many ways. I was applauded, my teachers were proud of me, my family was joyous, and I was enjoying the time. And it also brought along the responsibility of what I write. It handed me over the expectations of people. With age, I have to evolve in my style. My only goal is to never disappoint.
Media coverage of the release was generous enough to leave me with memories. Memories that I will never forget. My X page holds the archives of all the media coverage the book got. I will be uploading them here as well.
